My name is Niyah, and I’m a certified doula originally from Brooklyn, New York, but raised in South Florida. I enjoy painting, reading, listening to podcasts/music, dancing, and singing horribly in private. I obtained my NBDA (National Black Doula Association) certification in 2020. Part of the reason I took an interest in becoming a doula is because I want to contribute to lessening the risks of poor maternal health outcomes amongst black and brown women. Societal and health system factors contribute to the high rates of poor health outcomes and maternal mortality for women. Specifically, women of color. As your doula, I aim to provide support that is respectful, spiritual, culturally competent, safe, and of the highest quality. As your doula, I can offer a variety of wellness methods.
